Thoughts and Dreams of Aaron Schmidt

This is the online journal of Aaron Schmidt where he records his thoughts (when they seem relevant) and his dreams (when he can remember them).

29 December 2003 Fear Factory

I am thankful that I no longer live in the fear factory that is the United States of America.
The future cannot be controlled through aggression,
and the past cannot be forgotten through ignorance.

Don't get me wrong ... the people I worked with in Atlanta were all excellent people but I got the impression that the general populace lived in a certain state of fear. This sensation was given to me by the American media who would go to any lengths to portray an environment of fear and anxiety.

26 December 2003 Merry Christmas

Aurélie and I are here in Lyon with the Moreau family and Janet. The weather's been cold and clear and good for photos when I am brave enough to go outside.

I got a lot of nice clothes and books and socks along with a hair shaver and the latest Tomb Raider game for PC.

I gave Aurélie the Alien collector set on DVD, a portable MP3 player and some sexy lingerie. She was happy.

Everyone's pretty sick today, vomiting in the toilets, except for me and Aurélie. Go figure. We think it was all the ham and cheese we ate yesterday.

I've been giving a lot of serenades to Lise, who is my biggest fan and enjoys the music very much even if my guitar playing is a little rusty.

A big Merry Christmas to all! :)

Spoke too soon and now I'm sick too ... Gastro! We've figured out it was Lise, the baby, who has spread her evil germs through the vomit rag.

In my opinion all babies are evil. Even if they appear cute and cuddly they eventually grow into adults and all adults are evil so voila.

Managed to get some good night photos of Lyon. We'll see how they turn out.

11 December 2003 Sickness

Argh ... been sick for a week now. I dislike the maladies that linger. My only consolation is that I am free to play Max Payne 2 and Need for Speed : Underground while I drink away gallons of orange juice.

Aurélie's away for the week in Switzerland for her company's year-end meeting. Tonight she's dressing up in full Indian garb for the Christmas party as the theme revolves around Arabian Nights.
